I started training Krav Maga in
2011. Shortly thereafter I was introduced to brazillian jiu-jitsu. I am a BJJ brown belt and Im also purple belt in a catch wrestling system, SAW, Submissions Arts Wrestling. I am a continued student of all things self defense, striking, grappling and physical fitness. My Krav and grappling have been heavy influences on each other. This non traditional mix has propelled me as an avid grappling competitor for many years. I have a number of expert level podium finishes in local and national tournaments as well as invite only tournament and super fight experience. My favorite techniques include knee on belly, kimura traps and the dark arts that are leg locks.
I like to give special attention to soft skills such as situational awareness, prepardness and the understanding of the physiological and psychological effects extreme duress has on the mind and body. Self defense starts with 'self' and Im a firm beliver in pysical fitness first as well as all things in moderation, even moderation itself.
In the near future I will be launching a team building, training and development company called NYAC: not your average citizen. It is my hope to change the way corporate team building is executed by incorporating soft skills as well as beginger friendly hard skills in a business environment to boost workplace safety, morale and introduce self defense training to people who would otherwise not have found it on their own.
I look forward to sharing the unique skill sets I have acquired over the years.
